Huawei, Samsung Team Up for LTE Interoperability Test in Europe

Chinese telecom equipment supplier Huawei and Korean Samsung announced on October 26 that they will collaborate in an IOT (Interoperability Test) test based on LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology in Europe beginning in November 2009, marking a significant step towards the commercialization of LTE technology, the Sohu IT News reported on October 27. Being the first of its kind in the industry, the IOT test will be conducted on Huawei's LTE trial network in Europe leveraging LTE modems supplied by Samsung in a bid to ensure the interoperability among network infrastructures and devices based on LTE, according to the same source.
